TWO-DAY CHIANG RAI/MAE KOK/GOLDEN TRIANGLE (CNXEXT02)

First day:  
Leave Chiang Mai for an elephant camp and see how the elephants handle timber.
Lunch at a local restaurant, then drive to Chiang Rai through beautiful mountain scenery. 
After checking in at the hotel, take a boat trip along the Mae Kok River to visit Lahu and Karen hilltribe villages.
Dinner and overnight in Chiang Rai.  (L, D). 

Second day:  
After breakfast, visit the border town of Mae Sai. 
Proceed for lunch at the Golden Triangle, the point where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar (Burma) and Laos meet. Also visit the Opium Museum.
Afterwards visit an old temple at Chiang Saen, then drive back to Chiang Mai.
Alternatively, clients can fly direct from Chiang Rai to Bangkok with an additional charge for the air fare.  (B, L).
