KHMER RELIGIOUS MONUMENTS AND BAN CHIANG  3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS : Depart from Bangkok every TUESDAY and FRIDAY
Day1 : Bangkok/Phanom Rung/Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat)
Depart your Bangkok hotel for a pleasant journey of approx 250 kms to Nakhon Ratchasima, the gateway to the Northeast (“Isarn”) and the least-visited region of Thailand by tourists.
Visit the fascinating village of Dan Kwian, where a unique and very attractive type of local earthenware is made, then enjoy a tasty lunch at “Ban Kub Tonmai Restaurant”. After lunch, visit the ancient and very impressive monument of Phanom Rung, one of the most beautiful and important historical Khmer sites in the Kingdom, dating back to the 12th century AD. Also visit the interesting Khmer site of Prasat Muang Tam located about 8 kms away.

Day2 : Korat/Khon Kaen/Udon Thani
After breakfast, depart for Ban Prasat, 46 km from Korat, and explore this famous prehistoric archaeological site, dating back over 3000 years. Proceed to the ancient Khmer ruins of Phimai, another of Thailand’s archeological gems, with an interesting open-air museum.
Review the morning’s discoveries over an enjoyable lunch at a local restaurant, and then travel to Khon Kaen to visit the Khon Kaen National Museum with its many different and impressive exhibits, including a display of temple boundary stones from this area. Then travel to Udon Thani and check-in at a hotel in Udon Thani.

Day3 : Udon Thani/Nong Khai/Bangkok
After breakfast, visit the renowned Ban Chiang National Museum, to see stone tools, decorative objects made of flint, bone and shells - relics of a fascinating pre-historic civilization. Experts believe the designs on Ban Chiang earthenware are the oldest of their kind in the world. Proceed to the Kut Na Kham Arts & Crafts Centre, approximately 45 minutes away from Ban Chiang. Here you will find very unusual and highly decorative hand-made pottery, ceramics, fabric weaving and wood carving products.
Return to your hotel for lunch, and check out.
In the afternoon, visit the Phu Phra Bat Historical Park, an interesting archaeological site containing a large number of ancient buildings and objects from pre-historic times, mostly of Dvaravati, Lopburi and Lanchang styles. Proceed to the colourful border town of Nong Khai on the Mekong River, with a view of neighbouring Laos on the opposite bank.
Depart Udon Airport by TG019 for Bangkok. Arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport and transfer to your hotel.
