Day 1 :
Depart Bangkok in the morning to Ayutthaya, Thailand’s former capital from 1350 to 1767. See the impressive ruins that stand as noble testament to this once magnificent city. Proceed to Kampaeng Phet, and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Kampaeng Phet means “Diamond Wall” and was a garrison town that defended Sukhothai from the 14th century onwards. The historical park includes several interesting temple ruins.
Dinner and overnight at a comfortable hotel in Sukhothai, the Pailyn Sukhothai Hotel.
Day 2 :
After breakfast, visit the lovely 300-acre site of Si Satchanalai historical park, 67 km north of Sukhothai, and explore this former twin-capital of the Sukhothai Kingdom, including a picturesque temple with a huge laterite stupa. Afterwards, visit a local goldsmith to witness the creation of beautiful ornaments, still made in the ancient style. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon proceed to the Sukhothai World Heritage Site and visit the many fascinating attractions of Thailand's first capital city which flourished between 1238-1376.
Dinner and overnight at the Pailyn Sukhothai Hotel.
Day 3 :
Breakfast and check out.
Additional sightseeing of Sukhothai before proceeding to the nearby town of Phitsanulok, to admire the most beautiful and graceful Buddha statue in Thailand, located at Wat Phra Si Rattana Maha That.
Lunch at a hotel in Phitsanulok before returning to Bangkok, arriving approximately 17.30 hours.
